i got an 86 trans am w/ a t-5, the motor is stock, except for hedders that i just bought and are about throw on there, now my questyion is about exaust. I am not worried about ground clearence, ppl are telling me that it will kill my clearence if i run true dual flowmasters, and dump them under the back seats which i want cause they sound the best, but a single pipe ive heard sounds good too. which is better? and sounds better, if someone could help me out please....thanks

True dual always sounds better and is usually louder, but yeah ground clearance will be pretty poor....expect some scraping and dragging especially on bumpy/uneven roads... I'd personally stick to a catback, but that's just me.

i'm all about the duals...but don't run flowmaster...the flowmaster cases are like 5" or 5.5" cases....also with a T-5, i think you can put the pipe up over the crossmember, gaining alot of ground clearance...i just got my dual 2.5's done last week and it looks awesome...where it goes under the crossmember is the lowest part.. it goes down, then up and tucks right back up...he did an awesome job...but try to look for a muffler that is like 4" case or smaller...i went with a 4" spintech pro street, and i almost think it is too thick....but my car is not running yet, i had to tow it to exhaust and back, and on the way back my dad took some bumpier roads and a few roads with train tracks and i didn't scrape at all, and i'm lowered with eibach sportline springs (1.7 drop) and low air in the tires....i was very surprised...i can take some pics tomorrow if you want some...let me know..
