headers

I know I probley asked this question before but bare with me! I just want it right. Im getting ready to put a 350 in my 92 rs camaro, 5 speed and Im not sure what what smog headers to put in it. I work nights and alot lot on week ends and dont have much time to research. would they be standard or shorty headers? would headman or edelbrock be better? were's the cheapest place to buy them? thanks for your patience and understanding!

The shorty headers with a supplied wye pipe (Y pipe) would be the best all around by far. Not an easy install whatever you go with but they will fit up to your factory exhaust. Not cheap for a decent set, Hooker or Edelbrock seem to be the most common and maybe the Edelbrock install a bit easier.

Not an easy install for some sets... some are cake. My Hedman 68470 shorties were installed inside of 30 minutes. Pass side slid right in w/o even removing the spark plugs, and the drivers side only needed the valve cover removed.

They work GREAT on my 350 as well. 1-5/8" tubes and 3" collectors on that set. Lots more power

thanks, I was looking at the 68481 for my 92, not bad with the y pipe, with smog tubes.

The y-pipe that Hedman makes is an awesome piece, has an adjustable piece on the driver side which lets you get the alignment great and it dumps right where the converter would goto. Word of advise though, if you don't get the coated ones, you might want to get some extremely high heat paint and paint them though because they just have shipping paint on them.

How much did those run you? I was just looking at those with Jegs. They do come with A.I.R and the Y right? I gotta be smog legal.
