DONT drive over train tracks

well the other night i was driving to the cove and as i crossed the train tracks on the way there, my electric cutout latched onto a piece of plate that was sticking up off the road...bad news.

cutout ripped off, motor snapped and the flap shaft bent, wires pulled out, and my banks catback bent in half, denting my floorpan...i'll throw up some pics soon...

That sucks man, I'm sorry to hear. My exhaust got caught when they drove it off the lift for inspection, not a sound you want to hear

until i get my dual exhaust crossmember on, my exhaust is kinda low.... i also have to slow down for RR tracks...

3 nights ago, i looked in the mirror, noone was there...slowed down as i approched some railroad tracks... JUST as i was going over them, these dumbasses speeding down the road come flying up behind me and almost rearend me.... im pretty sure that if i still had the L03 in the vert, i would have gotten rear ended...

These cars do sit low for sure. I spend some time on my car just adjusting pipe clamps and such to get clearance. Hit a possum awhile back, had to repaint the whole front end. Worth the aggravation though.

That's because your car is jacked up like a mother. Try having that exhaust with a 2 inch drop and stock profile tires.

These cars ride low to begin with lowering them further is just asking for trouble. I have enough trouble with own driveway to lower the car from stock height. I know it looks great when its done but causes to much damage to the underside to be worth it. imo

probably. the picture of the car in my sig was taken from ground level. more looking up at the car. kinda why it looks so high. but it's got v6 springs with no isolators all the way around. actually, i plan to lower the front more soon.

Hmm well in that case if there was a piece sticking out of the railroad tracks that is obviously poor maintnence by the railroad company and you should report that asap!!! So that it doesnt happen to anyone elses car plus you should file a claim stating what happened, take picutes of the damage on thier tracks and take pictures of YOUR damage as well.....it wouldn't be right for you to pay for it. Just my .02 cents.
