1 5/8" headers to 1 3/4" headers

Just wondering if anyone had any dynos or et results going from 1 5/8" shorty headers to 1 3/4" long tube headers. Thanks guys for the help.

Yea, I have shorty's right now and I want the long tubes so I was just curious how it would do on my AFR 383.

You can expect gains in hp and tq. How much you gain depends on your motor setup and the rest of the exhaust.

Yea, I knew I would expect gains but just curious to see if anyone has some results of it. My setup is 383, AFR, HSR! So, I know I will see more gains just curious as too, if it will be worth it for a project soon or later.

I talked to a tech at hooker the other day about headers for my car. He told me that I should go with 1 3/4 Long tubes for my LT1 instead of 2055's. When I asked about HP gains, he said he's seen anywhere from 40-60HP gains depending on application. Definately alot more power than what shorties are capable of. I know this isn't the exact answer you want but it is info!

Yea, but its info like you said. Thanks. I didn't think it would be that much of a gain though over 1 5/8 shorty's. However, I would like to see that's for sure how's everyone else headers are running.

The wilder the engine the more improvement you will see. I would seriously doubt a 40+ hp gain on anything but maybe an 600+ hp engine

Yea, I am expecting about 20 more hp and tq than the 1 5/8" shorties I have right now on my engine going to the 1 3/4" long tubes.

They will definately create more power! How much will be subjective. Plus, pcmforless does custom programs for long tubes to further take advantage of them. If you don't need emissions then I say do it and get a custom tune. The people that have had it done seem to be VERY pleased with the results!

Yea, I already have a custom tune from LSracingchips for teh shorties but I am going to dyno the truck after I install the long tubes and send the results to him. Just curious as to ets and if it is something I want to do as soon as possible.
