You can buy the muffler seperately and have some custom work done.
However consider other choices than the SLP loudmouth, it is EXTREMELY overpriced for what it is. You get a better sound from the dynomax bullet muffler, and it's one third the price.
And also,
This has been covered a trillion times.

This has been covered a trillion times. I was thinkin of putting the loudmouth resonator on my car when I go to 3 inch. I was sold on it till I heard a clip and it sounded awful. I kinda have mixed feelings about it because I've heard ones I love and that one that sounded absolutely terrible. Plus, I have I hard time paying around a HUNDRED BUCKS for a hollow tin can. I think the bullet is the way to go, I have the 2.5" on my car right now and its loud and has great tone!

I had the loudmouth catback on my 305 TPI trans am. I thought it sounded excellent. In my opinion it gave it the perfect mix between tuned sound and the raw muscle sound. But I had a substantial amount of work done to that motor, headers, cam, 1.6 rockers, cold air intake, ported plenum, ignition, high stall converter are a few to mention. Many things change the way an exhaust note will sound on a motor. The SLP will sound way different if it were put on a stock 305. But overall I liked the sound enough where its going on my new GTA too!
Oh and I almost forgot, it bolted right up for the most part. I had to make a few mounts for it and massage my old Y-pipe, but I was going from a different aftermarket system to this one, not stock straight to the SLP so I can't help you there too much but I dont think the stock y-pipe is far off the location of the one I used.

Sounds great until you leave for work early in the morning or come home late at night, don't think my neighbors car for it when I do some tuning in the driveway either. I have a hollowed CAT so that adds to the sound level, might put in a high flow cat or bullet muffler to replace the hollow CAT to calm it own a tad.

I had it on my 91z28 and it sounds like crap. it was just a LOUD obnoxius(sp) noise. I added in a dynomax bullet muffler in place of the resonotor AND a flowmaster muffler ihad lying around and it was still loud. granded my car has a lot of work to it but even with just the bullet muffler, it was LOUD. I also have no cats so if you plan on putting this on then dont get rid of your cats. you will need hearing protection in the car.
