cheap flowmaster exhaust
I have headman shorties into the hedman y pipe and a big honkin 3 inch super 40 at the end of the y pipe where the cat would usually go and a turndown....... works just fine and sounds killer. Just to let everyone know

i'm sure it works and sounds great on an all out drag car or a car that doesn't get driven much on the street, but i imagine it'd be way too loud for everyday driving...and if you are everyday driving it now, you'll like it for a while, but i promise, it'll get old. if you want to help the drone for little to no money, carry the exhaust turndown out to the axle and either side exit or dump back there. that's what i would do in your case anyway. my dual exhaust dumps right infront of the rear, but it's far enough back that it isn't loud at all...having an h-pipe also helped mellow the tone out a bit.
edit:
i'd also reconsider your air filter. i've heard of those foam ones getting sucked into the carb and hurting stuff in the motor. an elcheapo 14" open filter is what i would suggest.

yeah those foam elements get brittle, but that happens because it backfired through the carb and singed it, then it turns to powder and cloggs up your boosters and all that jazz... not pretty. I like the drone of my exhaust, I'm a little on the hardcore ******* side of things
