AIRtube removal problem/?
ok well i bought a set of the hooker 2055s and had a friend weld the air tubes off which i know is pretty common and every post ive read said you could do it. Well today i popped my hood, i was looking at my exhaust manifold and saw that the air tubes hooked up to a rubber hose that led into a large black kinda box looking thing (sorry dont know what its called). What am i supposed to do with the rubber hoses since they obviously wont be hooked up anymore? can i just remove them off that black box where they feed into or do i clamp them or did i just royally screw myself in the ***??

Just think about it for a minute, you got rid of one part of the AIR system (the AIR tubes), so now you just need to get rid of the rest of the system. Get rid of the rubber hoses, the black box, and the AIR pump itself. The AIR pump is on the front passenger side of the motor, right under the AC compressor. Buy a new serpentine belt, reroute it, and your done. Now the whole AIR system is deleted. Since there have been about a million posts about deleting the AIR/smog pump system, if you need more details just try a quick search.
This tech article shows the new belt routing and part number:

If you're willing.
All buy the entire emissions setup; smog pump, exhaust manifolds, AIR tubes, vapor can, egr, etc.
For $50 plus whatever shipping.
I got a truck that has absolutely no smog control, and it needs it to pass inspection.
