Chromed headers will quickly discolor from the heat. They're for show cars that never actually get run for more than a few seconds at a time.

Yup.. if you want the chrome look, but you want it to last, you need to get a ceramic coating on your headers.

Thanks for the advice. I thought they would look good on my 69 but I do like to drive it more than I should. Ceramic coating sounds good .

Go with ceramic and you won't be sorry. I've seen many pairs of chromed headers die unfortunate discolored deaths.
