Both of these sounds pretty awesome on my car, I may do this in the spring of 06' I am hoping it'll be well worth it...
but yeah I am pretty set on doing this, I may do a full catback, but I may just do a combo of the pacesetter headers with flowmaster 40 and an exhaust cutout...
what do you all think

Well, Pacesetter makes shorty headers with y-pipe for V8 3rd gens. http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/I...15115110010791
1-1/2" primaries, nobody has raved over their quality.

i think you should do a little more reading first. dont go cheap on headers. trust me its a job you dont want to do twice if you dont have to. get some hedman long tubes with a custom y pipe. then choose a different catback. flowmaster is HORRIBLE and sounds even worse on 3rd gens. i like the way magnaflow sounds and its about the same price and will outflow flowmaster anyday.

first off, pacesetter sucks ballz!!! a few friends of mine, my wife, and myself have all had bad experiences with them, and their customer service is just as good as there procucts, pathetic.
second, 1.5" primaries is crap. you need to get the exhaust flowing, not spend $$$ on nothing. 1.625" (1 5/8") primaries would be better on your car, anything larger is overkill unless you intend on building up a better engine.
third, Blowmaster is over rated. i kept by them for years, but none the less i opened my eyes to better. go with a straight through design muffler, sounds better i think, more aggressive, and flows without restriction. 1bdbrd is right, the flowmasters do sound horrible on our cars, that's why i had no problem cutting off my car.

I didnt expect to see this topic arise...
I got myself a bullet 3 inch in and out muffler and installed it in replacement of my stock muffler.
I was very close to buying the flowmaster but thought to myself that the bullet is basically a straight through muffler and no resistance at all.
Then I thought let's get creative, so I decided to custom build my own exhaust.
My next mod is either going to be an exhaust cut out right before the cat converter or I will order my 3 inch i-pipe for 50 measley bucks...
I am still undecided...

i was gonna do something along those lines but since my car only gets driven when its nice out, i said to hell with it and went exempt and eliminated the cat and a.i.r. i put hedman shorty's on and had a friend at a local shop make a custom 2.5" to 3" y-pipe and backed w/ a dynomax 3" race bullet ultraflo ran out just before the pass. side rear tire. sounds mean as hell and lets the engine breathe.
