i have a magnaflow muffler, no dual exhaust though. i really love the sound. i can't really explain the sound, but i've always thought of flowmasters as having a higher pitched roar, almost like coins rattling in a tin can (at least that's what my buddy's sounds like), and this has a much deeper rumble.

proble is, every car is different and will sound different.

i'm at work so I don't have a sound clip. if you post later in the evening to remind me, i'll try to dig one up at home.

I can directly compare this to a Flowmaster 80 on a built L98 in my friend's car.

The flowmaster really lets you hear the idle. You could definetly tell the car had a big cam (he has a ZZ9). The Magnaflow really hides the idle and the only way you can hear the idle now is the slight exhaust leak up near the y-pipe.

The flowmaster really droned... BAD. The Magnaflow sounds 1000000x better under load. It's also quite a decent bit louder at WOT, but just cruising around it's quieter than the flowmaster. Can't hardly hear it on the freeway.

The Mag is definetly a good muffler, but I would need the cat removed to really enjoy it as otherwise it's just too quiet. Course it might also just be me - I had to run no cat and a bullet to get the loudness I was looking for

One thing about the magnaflow is it's DEEP sounding. WAY more deeper than the flowmaster.

v8unleashed i could really use those sound clips, i noe my engine will sound different i just need a idea. i got a little 350 crate, with only maybe 345 horse. i noe the magnaflow will out flow the flowmaster so thats not it. I just want the car to sound strong but not over done. I dont want to sound like the car has 1000 horse(i wish). Im grateful for the the info and im going to use ur feedback in my exhuast but a clip will seal the deal.

This is pissing me off. I know I did this years ago, but I just listened to like 30 sound clips I had backed up on a dvd and NONE of them were my car.

Don't worry, I'll take my camera to the office tomorrow and take some a/v. Does that work?

He's right that the Magnaflow is relatively quiet when you stay off it and has a very smooth idle. It's nice being able to drive down the highway and be able to talk to the person sitting next to you.

And DEEP. Did either of us mention that it's DEEP?

well i live in the city, i want to have the muscle car sound but i dont want to be bothered by the cops. My car is older then me and Ive had alot older guys come up and are just amazed that they found a younger guy who has the passion for these cars that i have. If i can just creep through the streets with that deep power tone and then slam the gas and let it scream ive found what im looking for.

if you are looking for something that rumbles at idle and screams when u step on it, id recommend the edelbrock rpm catback. thats what I have. To me u seem to be looking for the same thing i was (until i got my catback). listen to it here... http://www.geocities.com/imadude_134/rpm.avi be patient tho, cuz its a big clip (not dial-up friendly). I got mine from summitracing.com. just my 2 cent input. good luck with ur exhaust!!

It's a video clip, since thats the only thing I had that would take audio. Besides that, it's not very good, and it's also 30+ MB. You can PM me and I'll send it to you over AIM if you want.

My clip is slightly over 18 million bytes. So no, I can't post it. And i'm pretty sure email only lets you send like 3 megs.
