Mufflex or a shop fabbed y pipe?
I'm seriously considering getting Hooker SC 2210 headers and then using the mufflex y pipe to hook them into the rest of the system.
But the mufflex web site wants nearly $300 for the y pipe and then apparently you need to go to a shop and have them modify the y pipe anyway
So wouldn't it be cheaper to forget the mufflex piece and have the shop fab you up a y pipe? Or if not cheaper, for the same price ($500 or so) you'd get a completely custom y pipe made for your car.
Any thoughts on this??

500 is outrageous for a y.
find a different shop.
300 at max.
the mufflex one is al mandrel bent, that is a + over a shop doing it, unless you order the bends and the y and have it welded up.
good luck.
