Cheap 3in exhaust

My buddy just bought an 86 Z28. Need new exhaust system, cause we dont have one. We have a 350 with headers in it right now. Can anyone tell us were can get some dirt cheap pipes, and mufflers. Are budget is about $100 dollars. I know its not much, its all we got for now, and we need to get it rolling. Thanks for the help!

You're probably not going to get one for $100. Can you weld? If so, get those summit turbo mufflers for $20, some 3" piping, and a few mandrel bends to clear the axle.

Cheap? Chr!st we have another one, welcome to the forums

Use some header collector extentions and clamp on some glasspacks then rock it around the trailer park.

Oops yeah, I just noticed you need a full system, not just a catback. For $100 you can't even buy a Y pipe. You're basically screwed.

We can both weld and I do have a welder, plus we dont need no stinking cats.

Axle/Gears: good guess
It can be done fairly easily. I have accumulated some of the parts for my 3" system and I'll prolly have about a bill in when its done. You will need a decent size length of 3" pipe. Buy it a muffler shop or you can get it at summit. I made my own y-collector out of tail pipes from Auto Zone....no big deal there. Bought a couple of bends while I was there to connect the headers to the y. Now for the 3" bends....you are gonna need a lil luck on your side. I used to work at a dyno shop that occasionally worked on Diesels. If they did an exhaust upgrade they would usually throw the stock stuff in the junk pile. Thats when I would stock up. I have all the 3" bends I would ever need. Finish it off w/ a cheap muffler of choice. 3" Cherry bomb would prolly be the best for the budget.

It will take alot of time (fitting and welding) to do it like this and it may not be that prettiest exhaust.....but doing it on the cheap is the only way I know.
