Pro's needed for advice on new exhaust!!
Hey,
I need a new exhaust on my 89 Formula V8 305 TBI to pass the local motor vehicle inspection. The thing is I'm not that well informed on what I need and what is best for my car. What I know is that I need the parts from the cat back (including the cat since it is rusted) I don't have the knowlege or the money at the moment to get new headers also. It is a stock system yet it's way ugly
Can anyone give me some advice on what to get and where to get it from? Since I am in Switzerland I should order everything I need at once since I don't want to be waiting 4 weeks on a missing screw or something
The only thing I can say is I would like a exhaust that you don't really see, kinda like back in 82. It doesn't have to be so loud that you can be heard a mile a way yet I would like to get a nice deep sound like you would expect from an American V8
As I said above, any help will be appriciated, bellow are some pics of my current exhaust.

for your application (don't want it to be seen, but you still want a nice sound) i'd consider the flowmaster Force II catback, which is a single 3" catback with flowmaster muffler and a single hideway outlet instead of a dual outlets. the outlet pipe tucks up underneath to be almost completely unseen. it's a VERY nice system and is kinda mellow at idle, but screams when you get into it. jegs and summit (links above) both carry the system, and last i checked the system was right around $230US.

How quiet is your exhaust on that thing, and is that another muffler right behind the cat?
4 mufflers? that exhaust must way 600lbs.

id reccomend the dyno-max cat back personally. dynomax sounds almost stock at idle, but has a mean growl at higher rpm's. The dyno max even made my friends supercharged 3.8 regal sound decent.
