Dual or Single
Im having my new engine built as i speak. Its a 383 with about 490hp and 440tq. Im wondering if i should go with dual exhaust or single. I have hooker 2210 LT's, for the dual setup i want to run 3" piping back into 2 Flowmaster Delta Force Race mufflers with turndowns. Or run the mufflex y pipe with the Mufflex 4" flowmaster catback single outlet. Has anyone ran into this decision before? What would you go with?

One of our club members is running a 400. He went with the Mufflex 4" system. A couple of us have gone with the Mufflex 3.5" system but we are running 355's.

I'd rather go with the dual 3" just because of the cost. I could build duals for about $250. I think for the mufflex y pipe alone is $275 then the catback for $575. Thats real expensive. The only thing that sucks about duals is the ground clearance.
yea the y pipe alone is 275, then its over 600 for the catback i'm pretty sure...you'll have some bucks tied up real quick into your exhaust....
i have true duals with an h pipe, and my ground clearance is excellent...i can't get it to bottom out now and my car is lowered 2 inches...i have dual 2.5's tho too...but if oyu take your time fabbing it up, and tuck it up real nice, you should be able to achieve some real good ground clearance..

click on VISIT MY HOMEPAGE when you click on my screen name, it'll take you to my cardomain page, the exhaust pics are on the last page i believe, if not they are in there somewhere...

why not build your own single four inch. Thats what I did. I have shorty headers, a true 3 inch y pipe into a four inch pipe, two mufflers, and dual tips. I had about 200 bucks in pipe and 180 bucks into a dual out spin tech muffler.
