Cherry Bombin' it
Just like it says, i took off my 80 series today and just stuck a cherry bomb in the stock place and just put a turndown right at the end so it dumps right behind the tire. This is only temporary until i have more money cuz its not the best sound ever but its definetly mean. The idle is almost stock, definetly quieter than the 80 series, acceleration sound really good much deeper and louder than the 80. At Wot its insanely loud but the tone gets a little iffey, sorta like when people say these mufflers sound like dumptrucks, cuz it sorta does. Overall im happy, this will definetly hold me over until i can afford something new. Total cost was 30 bucks, muffler, turndown, and 2 new clamps

sounds like a good alternative, although you could have just hooked up a pipe to make it come out of the side right after the cat if you wanted to go cheap.

I have a question, i condsidered this but wasn't sure if it wud work. I've seen glasspack RESONATORS and glasspack MUFFLERS. As far as i could tell they are diff, but could i simply take out my cat and put the resonator in it's place. And then take my current muffler, and replace it with the glass pack muffler? This will prolly sound like **** wont it. And on a v6 this wouldn't burn valves or sumtin would it. Someone said glasspacks would do that. THnx

There have been a bunch of people who just put a glasspack or resonater in place of the cat, you can do it just as long as you dont have to get it inspected.

People usually put the resonater where the cat goes because they had already taken their cat out and maybe put a new exhaust on later thats too loud or too raspy, and go back to put something in just to calm it down some.
For the sound, i dont really have an idea. If your lookin for loud itll still definetly be loud even on a V6. If i had to guess, id say, low rpms, idle cruising and "normal" acclelertaion it would sound deeper and pretty good. If you got on it real hard and got the rpms high that when the sound might get crappy.
By the way, my friend liked how my car sounded with the 80 series so hes putting a 40 series on his 1.8L jetta HAHA! Cant wait to hear that.

I had a buddy that put a glass pack where the cat was, and "forgot" to put the rest of the exhaust on. Sounded pretty good for a 2.8. I was going to do the same to my firebird, but the motor gave way to something that wont need a glass pack to make it sound agressive ^_^
