305 Exhaust
So I need some advice. I've been
ing and doing my research on true dual exhaust and false. I also know that my LO3 isnt anything fantastic nor do I plan on pushing it past 300hp. Now my main question is, going with a flowmaster 40 series muffler (3" in, dual 2.5" out), headers (which 1-3/4, 3" collecter headers should I opt for?), 3" Ypipe (which should I opt for?), and a "cat" that will be nothing more than a cat casing with a 3" pipe running through it, will it be enough for my LO3 to breathe? I don't want to restric my exhaust by any means because its the LO3's weakest bolt on link in the economy engine **** chain. So is 3" to muffler and dual 2.5"s out enough for a 300hp LO3?
Second question is, is there a 40 series muffler with dual 3" out and is that even necessary? I've also heard rumors that flowmasters can create back pressure and possibly not fully open up your exhaust like other mufflers will, true?
I would greatly appreciate any links to your suggested headers,Y pipes, and mufflers. I am definatly sure I am going 3" all the way to muffler.
PS: No AIR

People say 1 5/8 for 305 and 1 3/4 for the 350. I put the 1 5/8 on the 305 and had it dynoed with no power loss. Put whatever header on you want and 3 inch all the way back. If you are going to run a cat just get a 3 inch cat co generic one.

Do you know a header Ypipe combo thats 3in all the way back? Everything I seem to look at is 3in collecter, 3in - In 2.5in - Out Ypipe...

Darn you I'm going with SLP! Man does their stuff sound good. Plus their HQ is 20mins from my house. Guess I'll be opting for their 1-3/4 Headers(because they have no AIR, Anyone know if you can plug the AIR they come with?) 3" all the way back. And their SS 3" in dual 2.5" out muffler. Well the headers are a wishful... I maybe getting a set for $20...
