This is all about My 1988 camaro TBI 350 (not stock)I bought last may..
The camaro had a L03, and 300,000miles on it, and then a guy rebuilt a 350 TBI from a 1988 chevy pickup and put it in the camaro.. which has 30,000miles on it now.
well I went to the drag strip 1/8 mile, and the best run was a 9.92. 60ft was 2.7secs.. Needs slicks.
Heres where i want to change something, I am looking under my car, theres No rust, and my cat. (sticks out like a sore thumb) looks like its from 1988, so Im thinking of taking it out.. and running it without a cat. for a while, and when i get some Money to get a HI- flow cat and some shorty headers, i'll fix it right. This is my somewhat daily driver, and BTW theres no Smog laws in Maine....... yet... knock on wood!
Now i can get some pipe, but, the slip on part of the cat is on Very good!! and isnt coming off without a fight.. But i have to drive to work and school almost everyday.. so i cant take it off, and measure and put it back on.. it be So much easier For me to know the sizes of what i need, get the stuff, and do it all in one big shot!
I know the total length of the cat is 23" bet the inside and outside diameters, i am not sure about.. do i need 2.25" (2 1/4") ID or OD? I want to keep the flange piece on the other end.
Thanks For any help! Any questions, Please ask! Comments are great also!

The cat flange should be at least 2.5" ID. The TPI cars had a 3" ID cat. If you're running a 350 through the 2.5" exhaust there's your problem right there, replace the whole thing.

well, i am having trouble getting the cat off the crossover pipe... any suggestions?? Its not rusted too bad, its actually pretty decent, But the U-clamp really smashed the top of the pipe.. I was going to hack the Cat off and then get a Cut off disk and make a small slit along the side, and Trying not to hit the Crossover pipe Too much.. But enough so i could take a chisel and hammer and get it spread apart and come off... Any other better idea's?
BTW, I plan on replacing the whole thing with 3" Mandrel bent, with shorty headers..
