hooker 2055's on an 85

The hooker 2055 headers say that they will fit 86-90 tpi cars. I have an 85 tpi trans am. Why would these headers not fit an 85 or what modifications whould have to be made for them to fit?

The 86 uses a different cat that attaches to the y-pipe differently. On my 85, I bought a Dynomax 3" slip-on cat and replaced it all at the same time.

If you want to retain your stock cat, you'll need to either buy the proper flange adapter and have it welded to the end of your new y-pipe, or you'll have to buy headers & y-pipe that's made specifically for the 83 (or is it 84?)-85 L69 cars, which use the same cat and Y pipe as the 85 LB9.

yeah i got them in and im happy with them. There was no real problems getting them in except i had to sand some of the coating off of the y-pipe to get it to fit into the cat. I would recomend them to anyone looking for headers.
