Two questions about exhaust, should i upgrade again ?
Question one: So i just started my car up after sitting for a while, it's not a daily driver or anything (check sig) But my no means is it just a race car, so with that in mind, im thinking i might need to upgrade my exhaust manafolds again to something better suited to my setup (when i bought them i had a bone stock l98) anyway see sig, im pushing around 600 horses, what is a better choice of headders for that hp range, i dont need A.I.R or anything like that, im contemplating gutting the cats, and possibly installing an electric cutout for more fun.....
Question two: I went behind to the exhaust tips and put my hand over them after starting the car for the first time in a long time, the left side was hot like exhaust should be, but the right side was kinda cold, it sorta felt like it was sucking in on the cold side, does this mean i may have a clog somewhere ? Im not running a muffler, just straight pipe after the cats.....thanks guys !

600 isnt a race car??? haha.
I would say you could possibly have some valves not adjusted right but it kinda sounds like this things ran right for a while right? Or is this about the first time running?

It runs, idles a little rough, i have not drivin it yet, but ive been questioning the valve adjustment for a few days, quite frankly i dont feel comfortable adjusting them, ive read to many stories about screwing it up, and weather to do it with the engine running or off. It needs to be done though. Anyway i digress, i never noticed it beforehand, but i havent really agressivly drivin the car since the SC install...... it's just wierd that one side is hot and one side is cold, it's all the same pipe after the cats, it just splits and out either side of the car....hmmmm

oh, so it does go into single exhuast for a while? well, you cant really consider it one side of the engine or the other. Dont worry about the valves man, just do go crazy cranking away on them. I usually do them running if its in the vehical. Just get the rocker splash clips and do one side of the engine at a time. On one of the valves, slowly loosen it up untill theres a noticible loud clicking noise, now slowing tighten it untill it just stops clicking, thats at zero lash. Now, slowing tighten it, about a 1/4 turn at a time and wait a second or two, and do it again untill you have a half turn, people say its 3/4 but somtimes its too tight, and it not good to be too tight. So do all them just like that and it should be good. If for some reason you notice a slight chatter go ahead and turn them a 1/8 or 1/4 turn more.
Good luck.
Good luck.

yea it comes off the headders, then into the factory dual cat setup, back into one 3 inch, and then splits off and hits the bumpers without a muffler.... I may run by the JY and pick up an old valve cover and cut the top off, and do it running then, maybe thats the best way, ive just never done it and id hate to screw it up, but from what i read im probbably over reacting a little.... seems realatively easy, maybe just a bit messy. I hope i can hear the clicking noise, it's hard to hear **** with the blower running

naa, dont worry, its usually loud as hell. I'd still go get a set of those oil clips, there not much at all at the parts stores, but you got the idea with the valve cover, that will definatly keep your headers clean
