Exhaust & water

Everytime i start my 1988 camaro 350 tbi.... I get steam out of my tail pipes for about 15minutes.. and during that time Both tail pipes drip water, it is clear and doesnt seem to be related to antifreeze... On Hotter days(85*F) it does this also...

So what is it?

condensation from a hot engine. probably but i'm not really sure, i have the same thing with my 305 tbi, and if you rev it it even shoots water out the pipe sometimes too! i have a stock exhaust for now so it might be because of restrictive pipes that don't allow vapors to escape very well.

Okay, so its nothing Too serious, if i get some headers and mandrel bent exhuast tubing, it'll reduce the condensation?!?!

No.
that's just due to the climate you live in. It's cool and humid, and moisture collects in the pipes, from the hot air that was there before, etc etc.

Yeah man dont worry, I live in texas and it will get hot and then cold... but think of it:

160-220 degree's to 90 or 80 degrees

think of a cold soda? it condensates just coming out of a 40-50 degree fridge to a 80 degree climate... our cars are doing 4-5 times the amount of degree change

if you have water coming out you tail pipes that means you engine is gett ing perfect combustion and is very healthy.
