Muffler shops not working with me

I can't get anyone to cooperate with me. Most places don't seem to want to do the dual exhaust system I want. Take a look at this picture of this 82 TA, stunt car they used on Knight Rider. This is doable, but most places are giving me a hard time about ground clearance issues.

The pipes under the axle make me nervous. Also, I've seen much better ways of doing dual exhaust- that way seems overly complex.

on the 84 z i parted out it had a dual 2.5 inch setup. it was routed very similiar to the bottom pipe in that picture except they went over the axle in the stock area then exitied in about the stock location. let me see if i happened to get any pictures of it.

edit: hope this helps

I've noted many times on this site where members have or want true duals. Is the annoyance and/or expense of fabbing them up worth the effort? What kind of real world results would they offer compared to, say, a dual cat set-up or a high-flow cat/three-inch catback? Simply curious.

The expence realy isn't that bad.....I was looking at what way I wanted to go with my long tubes and the differenc is the single is about $10 less.....in parts anyway.........The gains will depend on your engine combo.Exhaust is like cam selection you must realy know what you want your car to do........as one style / size will out perform the other on the low end but will restrict it more than the other on the top end......that is the very short version......you have to be very carefull when talking about exhaust around here it's like Pandoras Box...... do you realy want to open it? will give you alot more info.
Good luck,
Mike

No. I was just curious. I'm perfectly content with my Hooker 2055's, Catco 9118, and Hooker catback.

I was just making a general comment.....didn't mean anything by it.......any time you voice an oppinion on here about exhaust you get a barrage of "no it's realy this way"......

On a motor with say.. 350 fwhp, you wouldn't see much difference. It would sound better though, imo.

400+ rwhp and you will see some results for sure though.
