dynomax cat backs

does anybody know about the dynamax catback systems avaible at advanced auto. the have 2 systems a supertubo and a ultraflo. 285 for the superturbo and 350 for an ultraflo. are these systems worth the money. i was told that it will adapt my 2-1/4 in outlet from my cat to a 2-1/2" system. is this a waste of time and money or would i really see a performance gain? how much of a gain? i want a beefer sound but i also want an increase in performance. what if the life expectancy on one of these systems. the 2-1/4" crap on my car is shot anyways. if i went this option i would want to reuse this system when i get a better cat and headers. would i be able to hook a system like this up to a 2-1/2". advance auto also offers dynamax header for my car at 200 bucks. are these worth anything, that seems awfully cheap for a set of headers.

as for the catback just stick with the superturbo itll save you money and its not even that big of a flow difference i dont know about noise though. i put the 2.5 system on my 2.25 and it sounds better give it some more rumble but not too much. at idle its pretty quiet but once you get on it youll hear it. there was a little performance from it and i think the muffler is straight through just about. but i like it ive had it for almost 2 years now and still looks new but i dont drive in the winter so that might help too. as for the headers i dont know.

everyone else is going to tell you to just upgrade to a 3" or bigger so its all in your best interest really.

There is quite a difference between the superturbo style and the ultraflow welded. For instance the superturbo muffler with a 2.5 in inlet will only let a 175 hp engine breath to its full potential, the ultraflow welded muffler with a 3 in inlet will support up to 636 hp. This is because of the straight through design of the ultraflow mufflers. The turbo mufflers have a three tube design and the exhaust flows in an s pattern through the muffler. All of the dynomax exhaust systems feature mandrel bent tubing for increased flow and the new system will definitly add hp to your ride. As far as the lifespan of an aluminized system expect 3-4 years. With a stainless steel system you can expect 9-12 years. However it can vary dramaticly based on your geograffic location, aka rust belt or not. The hedders you are talking abotu are the entry level hedder with a painted coating that will last about one minute before it cracks and flakes off and then starts to rust. They are compariable to a set of heddmans, maybe a little better. Dynomax does sell a ceramic coated set of hedders that are approx. double the price of the painted hedders but they look alot nicer and the coating will last for many years. Dynomax does offer a 90 day guarantee, if you are unhappy with any of their products you can return them for your money back w/in 90 days from date of purchase. I know all of this information because I am a sales rep for Dynomax performance exhaust. Thanks for your interest in our products and if you have any more questions feel free to e-mail me at eric_malek@hotmail.com, please make the mail title unmistakable or it is very liable to be deleted.

I bought the superturbo exhaust for 169.99$ on Summit and it sounds a little more throaty and deeper than stock, which is what I like. I plan to swap out the muffler soon though because of what was stated previously (had my eyes on a hooker 2.5). But other than that I think its a good product but you are overpaying from your supplier.
