i think im going to buy headers

i have the rest of the system. i bought it used for 150 bucks, i thought i was buying a Y pipe and exhuast setup off of a L69 setup. i was a system setup up for headers. 2-1/2 Y pipe welded to a 3" cat back. complete with flowmaster muffler $150 bucks. so i wont work my L69 manifolds im probably going to buy flowtech BIG-11102FLT (2-1/2" collectors, 99 bucks from summit racing) are they good shorties? are all shorties with 2-1/2" outlets the same? i need to dump my RS 305 2-1/4" exhuast. its pure crap. Do I have to have headers ceramic coated? my stepfather said if you dont coat them they rust out really bad. is that true? for 100 bucks if they lasted several years i wouldnt bother. any advice, since i have everything else i may as well get some shorties

those are really nice headers, no doubt but they are also $350 the flowtechs are 99 bucks. i cant really afford 350 for just headers. my car also needs a carpet, seat appolstry, tires, paint job, suspension upgrades, you know the drill it aint cheap to be cool

Flowtecks aren't much better than manifolds......they warp very quickly and the fittment when new isn't the greatest. You'd be better off to save up for a quality set of shorties.
Good luck,
Mike

This has been said before. "If you can't afford to do it right the first time, can you afford to do it right the next time." Or something like that.

Ughh noone said you had to buy the coated ones... Uncoated is like $150 or maybe cheaper.
