muffler question
I'm about to do a dual exhaust setup on my 92...305....T-5....What would be the best muffler size wise to put under it so they don't drag...and where...I thought about right under the seat...or do some round ones along the side...Hell I dont know...Oh the car is stock height and will stay that way...Thanks...Dave

no biggie, people run flowmasters to spintechs to bullet race mufflers, etc. I'm swapping on turbo mufflers on my combo since my moroso spiralflows were too loud for the neighbors liking.

I'm not gonna be running big HP so I really like the dual 2 1/2" pipes run in the factory location and maby I can exit where the stock muffler does with something....I want it to be quiet cause I'm gonna try to do electronic cutouts on my shortys...if I can....

I ran dual 3'' spintech oval tube into two basically flat spintech circle track mufflers. I had it dump right before the rear end. If you want the exhaust to extend all the way to the tips, you will have to run both pipes over the rear end on the passenger side or get a panhard relocation kit. That will bring the panhard bar down low enough that it won't smash the pipe when the suspension bottoms out. The pipes from spintech are pretty pricey, but I love the look of the oval tube. Plus on cars that weren't made to have duals, ground clearance is everything. The sound difference from a single pipe to duals was like night and day. Unfortunately, the single pipe has almost a glasspack sound. The duals completely clean up the exhaust tone. When I first had the exhaust system built, I ran dual 3'' round tubing with two Super 40 Series Flowmasters. I reason I switched is because I hit a pothole and ripped one of the mufflers off. The 40 Series are something like 5'' thick compared to the Spintech mufflers which are only 3'' thick. I also like the way the Spintechs sound compared to the Flowmasters.
