emission systems!!!

emission systems!!!

i have an 89 camaro and i have headers comming and i would like to know some info on how to remove the emission systems from the car without any problems and so it doesnt effect performance!!!!!

3rdgenlove, you need to be a bit more specific. Are you just wanting to not use the AIR tubes or are you looking to remove the charcoal canister, EGR, AIR Pump, CAT, etc???

i just want to know if i took it all off everything if it would effect my cars preformance and how to do it

3rdgenlove, the performance gains you'll see will be marginal at best. You're not going to add 10+ hp from removing emissions. My are that people remove emissions from the engine bay for appearance (like I did) or their new combination isn't emissions compatible (going from EFI to carb), meaning it would require either too much tuning or no computer at all. I don't really know on the second thought. With an 89 you'll definetly want a custom tune so get prepared to read, read, read, read a little bit more, read, and then try and tune. Good luck
