Hey peeps, i once again need your thoughts on a couple things here.
After much consideration on what headers to purchase, i decided to get new shorty hooker 3460's. I'd be happy with them if it wasn't for one thing: On the third tube of the passenger side header, it seems the metal is pitted, no deeper than 1 mm though. The surfact area of the defect is pretty large, Kind of like a swiss cheese look. I seems as if the metal was melted perhaps by some stray welding material.

I could be overly-concerned because the Damage was done before the black protective coat was added, so it was clearly done at the factory and if it would develop into a problem in the future, i can't see them not repair the product before selling it. But at any rate, since i'm thinking about getting these ceramic plated, should i return them?

The other question is about the plating of headers. If i am to get these plated, should i jsut ask for them to have the prodcut finished in ceramic? Is there anything else i should be plating these headers with to make them last a little longer like chrome or something?

 

2460's, perhaps?

Ceramic coating stands on its own. No need for anything else to detract from its effectiveness.
