flowtech Headers, is it worth it??

I just got my 86 z28 back on the road it has a stock lb9 besides drop in k&n's and dynomax bullet. I am going to be driving the z28 until I get out of college and get a better paying job (1/2 year) then I will get a ls1 z28 and give the car to my dad. Is it worth it to install flowtech headers/ypipe? I'd like a little more power and I don't want to invest in some expensive headers for only 1/2 year. I've heard some bad things about these headers but what do yall think??...

If it's for half a year, I wouldn't bother putting headers in at all.
