CAT QUESTION?

this weekend i decided to do my cat back exhaust, well after bolting everything up and in place, i realized my cat is a 3" and the flange on the cat back is only 2.5", lovely i know didnt help the situation, anyway i am looking to buy a new cat, does my 89 gta have an air tube on the cat.....

Why in the world would you change out the larger piece?

Get the right cat back, or if it has a 3" intermediate pipe, modify the connecting flange to 3".

I think you have the wrong cat-back exhaust. All the good ones have a 3" i-pipe. The 2.5" ones are designed for the stock TBI junk.

Well see that is the thinkg the i pipe is 3" but the connecting flange srinks, tonight i am goin to saw it off and just get another piece 3" pip and run it right into the cat. thanks guys
