jack the car up HIGH and put them in from underneath, you also have to pull the starter and you might have to cut a little out of the kmember depending on your motor mount height as they sag over the years

On my 84, the driver side went in from the bottom with the car maybe 2' in the air. The passenger side went in from the top with the starter removed (no A/C). Both sides required substantial cutting of the A arm mounts on the K member to clear with brand new urethane motor mounts.

headman headers
well i was wondering if i undid the motor mount and jacked the motor up if they would slide in from the top or slide in from the bottom?
I put both of mine in from the bottom. I also need to get the motor jacked up extremely high, as in as high as it would go. The passenger side just slid in and bolted right up. The drivers side needed a little dent from a hammer in one pipe and grinding of a a small amount of corn of the a arm. I also need to get the motor jacked up extremely high.

I didn't have to raise the engine on mine. Both of them went in as described above with the engine bolted in.

The usual place that most people have problems is around the driver side A arm mount. I also had clearance problems on the passenger side. I notched the A arm mounts on both sides to clear mine.
