Just messing with ya...I guess I missed the part about redoing the exhaust later. I kinda figured you might be doing that, just forgot to add that when I asked. I pay keep it. The minimal weight wouldn't give you any track benefit.

askulte.....next time they hassle you at the track just tell them to test the rear outlet. Then subtract what they hear out of that one, from the front one and you should be legal!

They are CCW lightweight 3 piece wheels, originally for the SCCA T1 C5 Corvettes.

Originally for a C5 Corvette

Dbl spacer (.140 each) still too tight, leaves 3/16" clearance against trailing arm.

With one washer and two plates, it barely clears the top. 7/16" total. This has 5/16" clearance to edge of wheelwell.

Need:
9/16" thick spacer
5x4.75" Bolt Circle
70.3mm centerbore, at least .350" deep

Specs from CCW, if they are the T1 race wheels
2.785 centerbore
Non-stainless hardware (gold colored coating) with nuts on the outside
Wheel halves welded together
Front - 17x10, 7.5" backspace, 50mm offset, 18 lbs
Rear - 17x11, 8.25" backspace, 56mm offset, 19 lbs

Plenty of ground clearance.

Lime Rock Park had an 83 dBa sound rule, and I was concerned about passing it. Dave Zug and Mike Davis helped fab this baffle that was tack welded to the exhaust. It aimed the sound at the pavement, and it worked like a charm. Stuffing the exhaust with steel wool was our next temporary option, in case this didn't work.

that is just amazing the sound is just incredible what kind of engine you got in the Z oh and another Q did u just run headders and straight pipes?

I'm running Southside Machine SFC's that are stitch welded along the rocker panels, and there's a Dynomax Ultraflow 3.5" in/out muffler to quiet things down.

Re: Fabbing the side exhaust with plenty of clearance (aka NASCAR Boom Tubes)

How does this "sound" with out having an exact picture. Having two Boom Tubes one on each side? Come out of the Headers (longtubes) wiggle jiggle whatever has to be done for the Tranny Crossmember with Oval 3.5in into a pair of Magnapacks or just some Magnaflow Mufflers, Then turn 45ish and go behind the door kinda like askulte. I found a pic that gives me an idea under the car.. could but shorter pipe then into boom tubes and have them stick out about an inch or 2. Runing it under my subframe ties? Ok doenst sound all that bad to me..but Wont they boom tubes sit odd and run up hill, My BMRs are Big and Boxy 2x2 Boxed, So..my cage/welder whatever you want done guy came up with this, Cut my Subframe or notch it and run it through the Subframe and then him weld it all back together and add bracing. IDK Im worryed about streight in the subframe ties now. But I like the idea..Let me know how that sounds

First off great thread!!! Second I am in this same boat, and wondering if anyone has ran the side piped boomtube idea with subframe connectors succesfully yet? I am either going that route or exactly like the last pic here, and rerouting brake and fuel lines.

I'm going to bump this thread for anyone who's done this with SFC's? I suppose you could somehow go through it, cutting it up, but that would ruin the rigidity and purpose for getting the SFC's in the first place.

Hmm...good point. I wonder what a shop would charge for work like this since i don't have anywhere near the ability to do this kind of work on my own. lol

I was quoted $50 by a local shop to move my bullet muffler forward (under the floorboard now) & make a crinkly bend tube going out the side.

Obviously that isn't any oval tubing or any kind of tip though. I figured I'd buy the oval turnout & tip, take those to him & have him do the cutting & welding of it.

I'm going to bump this awesome thread again, but do you have any more pictures of the exhaust? Both "Side on" and from underneath?

No, it's 100% custom made. Not cheap by any means unless you're willing to do it yourself.

I plan on doing it myself, i just need the boom tube and if you could give me the dimensions of the pipe that would be great. I hope that's not asking too much
