I tried to do some searching and couldn't find any results...I have an oppertunity to buy complete 4th gen exhaust from the cat back to the tips...here's the deal, 3 inch high flow cat, 3inch pipe to flowmaster 80 with 3 inch out with nice duel chrome tips...will this exhaust be a bolt on? any help would be greatly appreciated.

yes to a point.
the complete rear part of exhaust fits(muffler/tips/hangers).
Also the pipe leading to the muffler(along drive shaft) has been in the same location since 82. So cat back will bit with a little fabrication since the locations of the cats/cat has changed over the years

wow thanks for the reply, I'm getting this complete systme for $300 bucks, to me that sounds like a good price, so if everything fits except for the cat, with maybe a slight bit of fabrication... I guess I'll pick it up.

So will the whole system fit w/modifications?(manifolds back) The 4th gen was a lt1 w/6 speed. My cars a 83 t/a 350/700r4. Thanks and sorry for thread jacking.

no problem on jacking the thread...Good question, me I've got headers and 2.5 inch y-pipe so it sounds like I shouldn't have too many problems, I hope...

It should all fit in there, only thing i have heard was the hanger locations are different (no big deal) and that the I-pipe will not be a direct fit into a stock cat. but its not to hard to get a small chunk of pipe bent to connect the cat to the 4th gen I-pipe or even eliminate the cat if your not required to have it in your area.

I have a Texas Speed & Parformance 4th gen cat back system, on my 87 GTA.
If you zoom in on the hangers, some had to be bent, some cut off and new ones made.
Too much other tweaking to make it. Hell, the install cost more than the system did!
Fortunately, the previous went through all of the. It was on before I bought the car.

No, the y-pipe and cat setup are different. You cannot use stock 4th gen headers/manifolds, y-pipe or cat arrangement on a thirdgen. Only the part from the cat to the tailpipes. And, as said, its not a direct bolt on to the thirdgen cat system.Originally Posted by Toyota h8r
