I would go with someting that has a primary size of 1 5/8. I had a set of heddmans that were that size and that fit great. I dont think I paid that much for them. If it has to be the Hooker go with the 2210's.

Those are the ones that follow the stock routing. Really weird ones. But, with the small primaries, don't make a lot of sense (although they'd probably work will on a slightly warmed-up 305, or a low-RPM torque 350).

Yeah I here the 2210's are really good but I don't really want to spend near $700 with shipping Since I'm getting my car painted soon. Unless there that much better than cheaper ones. I have no preferance on what company it is. I just want a reasonable set of long tubes that fit on my 305. Any other suggestions will be helpful.

I have heard that up to 400hp you can use 1-5/8 primarys. 450+hp and you should go with 1-3/4 primarys. This is for long tubes

the price went up 449.00. I think they are seeing a decline in these sales and raised the price to compensate for it. Holley likes to control their own pricing.

$449 isn't to bad. Thats only 50 more than the TES shorty's from Edelbrock and I would rather have long tubes any day. Just one more set of Lt's I found. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
Do these seem any good?

A lot of members have used those (or the uncoated version).

Five7kid, do you know if anything gets in the way of these Lt's(refering to the hedman street headers) when installing them? It doesn't matter that much because anything can be cut and removed. I just wanted to know before I would install them.
Thanks for the info so far.

I haven't installed them, personally. From what I've gathered, they are the best fitting long-tubes available. Any clearancing would be minor. The problem comes with the exhaust that goes after it. Search this forum for posts by mw66nova, he used those headers and built exhaust for them that probably provides the best ground clearance you can get (without refabricating the transmission crossmember). This thread https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/exha...el-bent-y.html shows both a y'd system and dual system.

This assumes you don't have emissions issues to deal with.

Those are really pretty cool man. I've never seen those before. I am suprised more people dont use them. You can run true duals with those and follow the stock routing pretty easily which would promote much better ground clearance. I would have used those had I have known about them, but they wouldnt fit with the corvette pan I am using though. Anyway, those are really neat, I should have thought of that.....

But, as stated, they are 1-1/2" primaries. Pretty small for anything more than a stock 305 or low-RPM 350.

Oh Thanks for cleaning that up for me again. I just realized they were small primaries. Why did they ruin a cool design by making them unusable with small tubes? That's stupid. 1.5" is too small for even a 305.

They are very usable, Im running them now. The smaller primaries hurt the upper performance but since these engines will never get into the upper RPMs where this will matter(stock anyways) the tube size wont make a hill of beans diff
