Question for those with turn-down and exhaust over the axle...
Wondering if you have a lot of exhaust soot build up on the paint of the rear bumper b/c you have turn-down instead of exposed exhaust tips pointing outward.
I'm considering getting turn-down tips for my V6 because 1" or 1.5" pipes coming out the back doesn't look that cool. And I want to tuck the tips up a ways so they are not seen.

soot
I have a turn down on my car and have not had a problem with soot on the bumper. However if you are worried about this being a problem, wash the car and spray the underside to about mid way up the bumper (or run the car and if the a pattern of soot forms you will know exactily where to spray) "PAM" cooking spray. It will not hurt the paint and it makes clean up as eazy as a wipe down with w wet/damp rag. Rain-X may do the same thing I dont know but its more work to apply and may (I dont know) harm the paint. Drag racers and even dirt and asphalt round rackers use this to make it eazier to clean off rubber after burnouts or mud from dirt track. anyway....you get the point
