ANYONE HERE EVER USED A MAC PERF. CATBACK SYSTEM ON THEIR CAR?I NEED TO DO SOME EXHAUST WORK ON MY 89 GTA SOON,&I WAS JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE HAS IT.I HAVE AN 81 Z-28 WITH DYNOMAX CERAMIC COATED HEADERS 3"EXHAUST AND MACS THAT DUMP AT THE REAR.THE CAR SOUNDS VERY, VERY MEAN WITH THE 355&HUGE CAM.I WAS JUST CURIOUS WHAT ONE OF THESE SYSTEMS WOULD SOUND LIKE ON A STOCK TPI CAR

 

There was a time when i was looking to put the MAC catback on my RS...I seriously digged through this site for hours and found very very very little about the catback (more questions about it than there was actual information). Very few people had/have it, and those who do arn't active on the site anymore. From the very little i was able to figure out, MAC is a nice sounding catback, but its prettty damn loud and has a decent amount of drone/resonance. That, coupled with the fact that nobody has one of their systems on their car means that no one is really willing to purchase it. Maybe if you get it and post some pics and sound clips, you'll start the MAC trend haha.

 

yeah let us know. the tbi exhaust on the rs is gone and i need a catback for it. i was looking @ for a cheap alternative since it needs exhaust since i ripped the v6 looking **** off.

 

I think I'm gonna go with the mac system on my car.I dont mind loud as long as it sounds good.EXAMPLE,whenever I hear a vehicle drive down the road that has glasspacks,I want to track'em down&smack'em.Will let everyone know how it turns out.May be a little while though,Tax time!gotta take care of UNCLE SAM first.

 

OK folks,it has been quite some time now ,just wanted to say that I'm not using the mac performance right now.I have hooker 2460's with y-pipe,and going to use the flowmaster that I have sitting here doing nothing for now.However,I would still like to here that mac system on one of our cars.

 

I had it on my 92 Formula 5.7 and I hated it I've since switched to 2otl and I love it!
