Tailpipe help!
Tailpipe help!
I have a flowmaster muffler I wanted to replace an existing one on the car. The problem is the tailpipes are welded on, so I will need to replace them. I cannot seem to find where I should go to order the replacement pipes and tips. It appears the muffler is a single inlet, dual outlet setup. Is there anywhere I can go to order the two tailpipes already bent and ready to be mounted on the car?
Alternatively, as the car now has no emission requirements to pass, etc, I would like to eventually remove the catalytic converter to get some performance gains. Is it better to just do everything at once? I am looking to save money on the muffler since I already have it and do not want to buy it again, is it possible to get a whole kit and choose not to get the muffler?
The other option is to get everything from the headers-back, in this case I would like to go true dual exhaust. How hard it is to make this conversion? Are there kits available for this that include all the hardware, etc? Welding is not a problem, just need to have complete instructions on everything. Any suggestions?
Any help would be great! Money is sortof an issue at this point, so I would like to start with just the tailpipes and change it all out in a couple years, so I would still like to get all the info on the other options. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am new to trying to find parts for this car.

Yeah, I would say it's a good idea to do it all at once. Cut off everything you got on there now and run new pipe from the Y all the way back into the new muffler, then either use the existing tailpipes or have new ones put on. When I had my system done, the muffler shop supplied the pipe, made all the necessary bends, and installed everything.
As for true duals, thats gonna take some custom fabrication. Due to the lack of ground clearance, it may be kinda difficult (and expensive) to do. I'm runnin 3 inch pipe from the Y all the way into the 80 series, no cat, and dual 2.5 inch outlets. I'm very satisfied.

+1 for this setup, I just had this done not long ago and I love it, I also had them dumped sounds pretty wicked and for me 3" is plenty good!
