muffler outlets...
hey everyone i'm new here.
I was looking around on here and i saw a post where you guys where talking about switching from a dual outlet muffler to a single for better flow. well right now i'm in search of a muffler to replace my stock one. Uh , at my local kragen's they have flowtech raptor and magnaflow mufflers , but they are all 1in/1out. if i were to buy either one of these instead of a dual out. would there be a difference ? i was thinking of getting a flowmaster off ebay , or this one guys cat back system but the thing with his set up is that its all pipe...no muffler. which might be a little too much noise for my small town. hahah

a regular single in/out muffler flows better because the exhaust doesnt have to turn and split out 2 different holes on opposite sides of the muffler as it does in a stock style crossflow muffler. the advantage u get from the crossflow is the look of duals out the back.
i planned on mounting a single in/out muffler in place of the stock one and just put a turndown on it right there, no tailpipe.
- the flowtechs i hear sound awesome but i have only heard them with true duals on built motors. i am not a big fan of magnaflow and i think your paying for the brand name rather than the quality or sound.
i say go with a single in/out flowtech and you should be happy, but dont be surprised if it doesnt sound great as you have a v6
