I have the Flowmaster American Thunder system with dual 2.5 inch outs. Its like $350 from jegs or summit, was easy to install, and has a very deep tone to it that sounds good.

"Display of Power?" Sounds like the only one 'displaying power' was the cop. What kind if exhaust system do you have now that would cause you to get a ticket for that?
Yes, the stock TPI exhaust system is, basically, 3"(3" cat, 2.75" intermediate pipe). So if you're already using a modded system with a 3" cat, then you can get any 3" cat-back system for TPI.
But if you're still using the stock LO3 cat or a stock-size replacement cat, then you'd need to get a 2.25" to 2.5" cat-back. And the one I see recommended by most LO3 experts here is the Dynomax Super Turbo system. It's supposed to have a nice sound, but not loud, and it has an affordable price, seems like the most affordable. Here it is at Summit:

Re: Lo3 catback?
lol i know DISPLAY OF POWER!!! i think its kinda tough. anyway i dont have any exhaust its straight pipe from y pipe back no cat no muffler just one peice from y pipe all the way back to where the muffler used to be, cut out muffler replaced with pipe welded duals (fake) back in place. BTW cop never even looked at my exhaust he judged that i accelerated too fast!?? isnt that BULLSHI*
----------
is the y pipe on a tpi 3 in as well? would a tpi catback just bolt right up on my car? is it easier and cheaper usually to find the tpi exhaust then buy a brand new one from summit? see im gonna put headers on my car within the next 2 months and i also need to know what headers i should use and as cheaply as well

Would a TPI/3" cat-back bolt up to your car(y-pipe)? No, without minor modification, a 3" would not fit. If you go with a 3" cat and cat-back, you'd have to modify the connection where your 2.25" y-pipe meets the 3" cat. But that's doable.
About which is less expensive, 3" cat-backs are all different prices(usually beginning around $300), plus a 3" cat(usually beginning around $100). So you'd be looking at $400-ish.
But if your budget won't allow the 3" cat-back and cat, I'd guess some people with that 2.5" Dynomax system(in the link I provided in my first post) are also using headers, so I'd think you'd be fine with that system, too... for around $300-ish with a cat.

Re: Lo3 catback?
right obviously you have to get a 2.5 to 3 converter!! but thanks..i think i will find a tpi junk car somewhere and see how the exhaust is. if i cant find one i will have to go brand new, which may not be a good idea cuz of the future headers..BTW...any feed back on the lo3 headers?
