I'm just looking for the cheapest set of headers and y-pipe for my 91 RS with a 305 tbi motor. i dont care about performance or looks. i wanna get rid of all my smog cram and clear out the engine bay a bit.

What should i get? summit sells crap shorties for 90 bucks, but i dont know if theirs a matching y-pipe. is there anything cheaper than that? or should i look for used ones?

Air does not make your car slower.
My Swiss edition 91 trans-am lo3 with mac-performance haders and performance chip goes over 220 km/h = 137.5 miles/h with 3 persones and compleatly full of lugage.

 

You can drop the whole AIR and smog setup with only the delete pulley (or re-route the belt) and some brass plugs for the AIR tubes

You dont HAVE to get headers to get around the emissions

 

right you dont HAVE to get headers, but i reccomend it highly on that lo3. you can get a nice set of headers and y pipe for 270, or just headers for 139. there hedmens and are good

 

e-bay, i forget the sellers stores name but the headers are shorty with air for $90 and the matching y-pipe i think is about $100. its a performance shop that makes em.

 

the flowtech headers where better then my hedmans.. I have a set of shortys with out air, they are flowtechs, you can get the y pipe on summit, Ill give you them for 50 + shipping, pm me if your intrested. good luck! keep the cat though

 

I'm really not into cats, i was going to gut the cat or put on a straight pipe.

as for the collector size, they will bolt to the matching y-pipe, and then straight to my catback? its all factory, but has been refreshed with new pipes, im going to swap out the muffler tho.

 

I just bought the flowtech headers and y-pipe from jegs they were factory collector size and what not, the whole total was like $210 and then i bought the cat test pipe on ebay for like $65 and a flowmaster 80 series muffler. Have'nt installed it yet but will this sunday. I just went the cheapest route to get some aftermarket into my car... after all im only a kid...lol

 

Where'd you find that price? I've been looking for a set, but I can only find them at Summit for 270.
