For an 89 camaro rs 5.0 im really looking at the flowmaster in that start here thread but heres my issue I want something with a nice exterior throaty sound but something that wont be too loud that it drowns out the stereo inside....will the flow gimme that?

 

I would go with the Flowmaster based upon what you say your are looking for. I had a Flowmaster set up on my RS put on in 92 but my recent fuel pump replacement forced me to cut in all out (in was in need of replacing) so I replaced it with a Dynomax Super Turbo cat back. It is now where near as throaty as the Flowmaster. It's kinda of disappointing. Go with the Flowmaster.

Go to flowmasters web page. They give you a sound clip of each muffler they have. It helped me make my decision.

Hey guys thanks for all the help but one last question. When you buy the american thunder flowmaster cat back does it come with a muffler pre selected or do you select it?

 

The muffler is "preselected" by Flowmaster and comes with the kit. I believe it is an 80 series crossflow.
