headman shorty headers.....
does anyone know how hard it is to get headman shorty headers on my 1986 firebird.... is it a hard process???

is it a carbed car, lg4? just look under the hood, there is a ton of crap all over the place, mine was the same way, i couldnt even see my valve covers. and yes it will probably be a real project to do.

I put those on a Looonnngg time ago when I still had the 305. I remember the Hedmans had a 3-bolt flange that needed to have one motor mount bolt removed and the block lifted to clear. I do not remember which side at this time, but be prepared. Oh yeah, have fun with the OEM manifolds...they are HEAVY!!!

They aren't REAL hard. Hell, my wife did the passenger side, while I did the driver's side & the y-pipe. The only part I did on her side, was initially breaking the stock manifold bolts loose, and checking the torque of the new header bolts. She actually removed them, and put the header on.

Non-Serpentine cars are a lot harder. I have done both.
Hardest part is getting the old ones out. Putting the new ones in is easy.
