Alright, what is the purpose of the borla cut out?

I've been puzzling over it for weeks now and frankly, it's pissing me off. I've seen the pictures of the borla exaust for our cars, it has ONE pipe going into the muffler, and ONE coming out. WHY would they do that? Maybe I'm old fashioned, but it looks all kinds of wrong! I want a one in, two out muffler. I have no idea why I'm unhappy about this but the look of the set up (Which being under the car no one but me will know about, just completely turns me off from what everyone says is the best cat-back system for our cars. It's probably completely irrational! GRRRR....I just look at it and I go "YUK!" I'm just really perplexed by this design. It makes no sense to me what so ever, especially since people here have dyno'd their cars with the cut out closed and with it open and it does nothing performance-wise (Yes, I searched before I posted and found the posters). There is no benefit to having the cut-out opened or closed. Thanks for letting me vent a bit. I think I need to go break a speed limit some where...

No, I haven't bought it yet and due to the price, I probably won't any time soon. I've been looking at them because I"ve heard the sound clips and I REALLY like how they sound. I just can't get over the design.

To make it louder, its all about the sound...

The reason theres no difference between hp is beacuase the 1 in 2 out of different sides isnt the most efficient, and because borla mufflers flow real good.

The emissions part doesn't matter because it's a "Catback"...I just can't get it through my head that not having all the exhaust going through the muffler is somehow very bad.

Ohhh..I like that. Is that a full catback or just the muffler to the end?
