Estimate on prices for full exhaust install???
(For a 2.8 V6)
I want to buy a full exhaust someday soon: Pacesetter headers (come with the Y-pipe), new cat, and a catback. All from summit: $470 without shipping.
I know I wouldn't be up to the challenge of putting this all together myself so I'd rather buy it all at one time and have an exhaust shop install it all at one time.
If anyone works for an exhuast shop or has had this done or anything, what kinda of price do you think I'm looking at just for the removal of the stock system and install of the complete new one? I want it bolted, too, not welded, since I think that would probably make a difference in price.

You are lookin' at another $100 I would say. Maybe a little less. For little pipes like that, and all in the stock configuration, it is really really really easy, and they better not charge you anymore than that. -

$100 ??? seriously ?? I highly doubt it.
Just to install the headers alone on these cars can take several hours. . . . and even if they have a cheap labor rate -- (60$/hour labor) your still looking at 250$+ time and wire for welding the rest of it up.
My guess would be in the 250-350 range, with additional time and materials needed if you wanted to retain your stock smog functionality. i.e. Heat stove, air lines, etc.

As adambros said, this could be a major pain to install, I had to pull my 305 out and extract several bolts on the stock manifold to put on headers. I whooped the whole thing out on a Saturday with a helper. You might want to consider attempting yourself to save$$. You can rent torque wrenches, extractors, cherry picker, etc. from Autozone.

most exhaust shops wont install headers. you will probably have to install the headers yourself. they will do the rest.

no way he should have to pull out his engine just to install headers, there is a ton of room all the way around a 2.8. and i agree with what a few of the other guys say about doing it yourself. it isn't that hard to put on an exhaust especially when it is all brane new components. you can save yourself a ton of money!

He shouldnt have to pull the motor for a 2.8
There is a crapload of room and the headers are mids anyways
The Y-pipe with em puts it right at the stock cat so a catback system is all he would need
PS, I have a brand new set of those pacesetter headers/Y Ill dump for 250 shipped
I also have a cam/lifter kit Im lookin to get rid of

Re: Estimate on prices for full exhaust install???
I'm with these guys I installed my headers on my 355 with the engine sitting in there. You have to install them from the bottom. Jack up the car high enough to get under there with them.
