Exhaust pipe HELP!!!!

Hey there Auto Brothers I need to know...
Does the exhaust pipe that runs from the engine to the muffler is it supposed to be touching the body of the car or is it supposed to be hanging some what away from the car... I have been hearing a scraping sound when I hit like a little bump or a light dip in the street.
I notice that the pipe as it runs to the muffler it begins to slant downward then goes into the muffler. I think it need to be push back up. What do you think?
And how can this be done?

No. Check to see if the cat hanger is in place at the rear of the transmission.
