Start with a 3" catback system. If you have the money, headers and catback.

Re: cheapest way to get it loud

well if you just want to make it loud take off everything after the cat. depending an where you live take the cat off also. it will be loud and free. but if you are looking for a full system do what iroc said.

Re: cheapest way to get it loud

If you want loud and cheap, get a hacksaw and cut just before the cat. With the money you saved on a good exhaust system, you can pay your tickets. That`s one of the first things I used to do when I got a new car or motorcycle, make it as loud as possible. Had a lot of fun doing that actually.

Forgot to mention cutouts. Check Summit or Jegs, there should be pictures of them and I think they are just what you are looking for. Should also be cheap to have welded on and easy to use.

Re: cheapest way to get it loud

This isnt legal and should only be done on the track

what you can do is unbolt your tail pipe after the cat. it sounds very intimidating. i get compliments and complaints but most of all beware of angry neighbors and suspecting cops.

how to do it is first spray them with wd40 that sort of thing. let it soak. unscrew both bolts somewhere after the cat and before the muffler (on my car there was a mount connected to the cat. this is where i unbolted the cat-back piping) than bolt the right hole to the left so your exhaust is evenly distributing weight on the mounts. or take the muffler and unbolted piping off and save some weight .

hope this helped

Re: cheapest way to get it loud

Cut your tail pipe after the axle, & just before it turns into your muffler. Weld on a new tail pipe piece, and your done.

The cat will muffle it enough to keep you from getting busted by cops, and it'll quiet it enough, to avoid noise pollution hassles.

If you look just to the right of the right-side stripe, you can see the straight pipe/tip, on my first 3rd gen.. Tip design, and dual outlets, are up to you.

Re: cheapest way to get it loud

Mr Maro, I just remembered that I have seen cutouts that can be operated by an electric solenoid or a cable like the old choke cables, from the drivers seat. Flip a switch or pull a **** and you have your straight pipes. Should only require some wiring, a switch, the cutouts and a muffler shop to weld them in and your set.

Re: cheapest way to get it loud

Poke a hole in your muffler

And kill the catalytic converter while you're at it.

Re: cheapest way to get it loud

Hacking it off is the cheapest, dumbest and most annoyung, a blowmaster will beef it up for cheap, then there are full cat backs.

Re: cheapest way to get it loud

You may find that loud gets old fast. Listening to music or holding a conversation is diffiuclt--at least to this old fart's ears.

Re: cheapest way to get it loud

Be a man, take the manifolds off entirely and run open head. Then when you save up some cash have some pipes bent upwards and welded to header flanges and make the exhaust come up out of the hood; then run your car really really rich so it blows flames.

Re: cheapest way to get it loud

I would add a flowmaster 80's serious muffler, not to expensive with an awesome sound.
