Header Wrap smoking?

Okay i have an 85 t/a 350 tpi. I put header wrap on about 2 years ago when i started my rebuild, just got everything together and running good (thanks to the helpful people here) my problem is white smokes keeps on rolling off of the wrap ,drivers side more than passenger. it's been doing it for bout 10 min of off and on time. is this bad? or will it stop after awhile? I really don't want to catch my car on fire again..

Re: Header Wrap smoking?

remove header wrap or your exhaust will rot out due to moisture retention.

Re: Header Wrap smoking?

I had to wrap after my headers due to heat melting my shift cable. It smoked for prolly about 10 minutes. Haven't had issues after that. Maybe you have crap in them.

Re: Header Wrap smoking?

I thought header wrap would only rot your headers in a high humidity region. I live in Las Vegas, and there's no humidity, but all the dry heat you could ever want.
