driver side hedman long tube header!!

Well i thought the passenger side was a bitch i got that bolted together and now the driver side three different places on the header i had to beat to get it to clear now my primaries on 2 tubes look like d's instead of circles did everyone else have this problem i also had to cut the a-arm how much did everyone else have to beat on the header and cut the a-arm to get it there. Im almost there on getting it to fit but it looks so messed up i feel like its gonna restrict flow or sould crappy or get a hole in it anybody else have these problems?

Re: driver side hedman long tube header!!

i didn't beat my header at all. I believe I bent the brake lines a little and had to cut the stock kmember in a few spots. Sounds to me like your engine mounts are old and saggy. Replacing with poly mounts will help.

Re: driver side hedman long tube header!!

most used thirdgen headers prolly have the "3rd Gen Mods or Break Ins" Dings dents etc...

its somewhat normal because our cars arent exactly identical or perfectly straight....

Re: driver side hedman long tube header!!

why would you beat them in a ton instead of raising the motor or cutting the kmember on the problem tubes?

Re: driver side hedman long tube header!!

if i got the a arm any more it will be cutting into the bushing i swear even though they say 68460 its like they werent made for my car my motor mounts are no way in hell gonna raise the motor enough i really pissed at hedman for a shitty product. thanks for yalls help i guess ill have to beat the header more and cut the a arm more without hitting the bushing.

Re: driver side hedman long tube header!!

stop beating the header, start looking at the problem areas. I have put them on 4 different cars and cut a few sections here or there as each car is different.

Re: driver side hedman long tube header!!

Even though I have a T-5 i tried the long tubes to see if i wanted to make them work. I got the drivers side in no problem. Except for the slave cyl mount on the bell housing. i decided against cuttin up the headers to make it work. Those LT's should slide right in... maybe you could post some pics of the problem areas so we can give you a little more help.
