A.I.R tube fabrication before engine swap! Help!
I got an engine for a really sweet deal from Sam McVea(SM racing, 565CI s-10) for 350$. He didnt need it and he pulled it out of a truck some guy bought and was going to race out (30k miles)pretty excited about it, all the bearings and clearances checked great, everything looks clean and no marring or scratching. So, before this gets a new cam and some other stuff I need to pick out headers! Can I weld fake AIR tubes on the 2460's?? They're sooo cheap i want them. I can't afford 460$ on f777ing headers on a budget build. I only have to pass visual inspection! If you have other suggestions I'd really appreciate it, or your experiences with AIR and engine swaps. In my state they need all the emmissions that the VIN carries they said. I don't know if that's entirely true tho.Can you guys help me please?btw off topic, 15in cast aluminum wheels are cool :P

Getting 2460's installed and functioning typically runs in the $300-$500 range, depending upon how much fabrication you can do yourself, or how good of a sweetheart deal you can swing with an exhaust shop. Bolt-in $440 emissions-legal headers start looking pretty good when you consider the total cost. As usual, you get what you pay for, or less - you never get more by paying less. Of course, you don't necessarily get more by paying more, and 2460's usually means you'll pay more by the time you're done.
If the link you posted is the engine you're getting, not bad; not much cam, but it sounds like you've got plans there.

If you order p/n 02460 you will get them with the air tubes already welded in.
You will still have to deal with the fabrication of the rest of the exhaust however.
