Pick up a good quality single cat Y-pipe, they flow better and are lighter than the factory dual cat pipe. Just be sure to match it with a good hi-flow cat.

your stock y pipe with that "T" intersection where the pipes merge is the worse design ever. an aftermarket single cat y pipe would be better, but the dual cats flow even better.
being lighter, yes but maybe at about 10-15 pounds TOPS. since there is an extra cat and maybe 3 feet of extra pipe. but the performance increase would be worth a few extra pounds.
if i were you i would look into a catback before the y-pipe, or for even more power get some headers, y pipe, and a catback.

Re: dual cat y pipe worth the money?
Anyone have flow numbers handy on this one? I know I have read it in the past (not on here though). Wish I could remember where. What I read stated that, yes the factory dual cat y pipe out flowed the single, but an after market single outflowed the dual cat set up.
