Borla Fitment Problem - Help
i know there is most likely another thread about this, but i coudnt find anything specific to my problem unless im looking in the wrong places.
anyways, the shop im having put in my borla exhaust said that the right tailpipe (that one that the block off plate would go in front of) doesnt fit right and id have to order a different one from borla. now i havent seen it myself yet, but could it be bent up or cut and rewelded or something along those lines. im sure i wouldnt have to get another one of those, im just curious if anyone has run into this problem and what they did about it. i think it said that it doesnt fit flush with the bumper or something like that or its not even with the other... ill post a follow up as soon as i actually see it
thx

When I had mine installed the mechanic said the same thing. When the shop manager and I looked at it all that was required was them pulling the pipes apart (the come shipped in place) and the placing it back together correctly (see image)

Sounds like expensive crap. For the over-price of that exhaust, it should be a do it youself install and be right the 1st time.

I got a borla sytem on my GTA and it was a tight fit,The right tail pipe doesnt want to fit correctly if you dont get the angles JUST right, it almost seems like its built wrong,But I just loosened it all up wiggled here and there and it fit perfectly. thanx to the advice of some 3rd gen members, and it sounds excellent!

Re: Borla Fitment Problem - Help
My only first hand Borla experience was with a LT1 4th Gen (which the owner wanted no plate and it sounded like a$$ along with a gutted cat) and a buddy who put a pair on his 98 Cobra (it wasnt very aggressive, had a nice upper-end control but a weird cruising burble that was annoying to me. Oh, and I also had a friend that had a 2.5 I/O Borla on a 2.8 Sonoma GT. That one sounded pretty decent for the 1st year. Then it aged horribly after that.
Just my opinion, but I liked the Corsa I have experienced on 4th gens way over the Borla. For the money and the sound, it beats Borla hands down.
