People w/ 4in Mufflex, use heat shield?

I was test fitting my 4 inch mufflex a few days ago and I would like to know from people who have it if you kept the heat shields or not. Thanks for any input.

I dont think anyone would, for function of heat resistance or logically such a large system being on a car would be more than a daily driver.

Re: People w/ 4in Mufflex, use heat shield?

How much do those heat shields weigh? What is the shield blocking heat from, is it the gas tank or the interior of the car? Do they also reduce road noise or are they strictly for heat?
Thanks
